Meghan Markle embraced her birthday celebrations with a carefree moment that delighted royal fans, sharing a playful video filmed by her husband, Prince Harry who could be heard laughing and talking in the background.
The Duchess of Sussex took to Instagram on Tuesday to mark her 45th birthday with a light-hearted clip showing her dancing barefoot around the kitchen while wearing a sparkling “Happy Birthday” tiara.
Dressed in a white T-shirt emblazoned with the words “It’s Giving Mrs” and matching relaxed trousers, Meghan twirled and laughed around her birthday balloons as Harry captured the candid moment on camera.
The joyful video offered a rare glimpse inside the couple’s private celebrations and showcased Meghan’s fun-loving side as she celebrated the milestone surrounded by family.
Earlier in the day, the former Suits actress also shared two black-and-white photographs of herself gleefully leaping into a swimming pool with her arms thrown into the air, birthday balloons floating nearby.
Alongside the images, Meghan thanked her followers for their well wishes, writing simply: “Thank you for the birthday love!”
The celebrations were also marked by her lifestyle brand, As Ever, which paid tribute to its founder with a carousel of photographs, including a sweet childhood throwback.
“Happy birthday to our founder, @meghan,” the post read, before adding a nod to one of the brand’s signature candle fragrances: “Lighting No. 084 to celebrate!”
Meghan is believed to have spent her special day with Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, at the family’s California home.
The Duchess’s birthday comes after a busy few weeks filled with public appearances and new professional projects.
Last month, Meghan made a solo appearance in Los Angeles for a screening of Cookie Queens, a documentary about the Girl Scouts on which she serves as an executive producer.
During a Q&A following the screening, she revealed a piece of advice Prince Harry has often shared with her.
“I was thinking about something my husband told me ages ago, we all go through experiences, life is full of surprises,” Meghan said.
“He was a helicopter pilot in the British Army for ten years. And sometimes on really hard days, he was like, ‘My love, you know, even if there’s a storm happening, above the storm, the sun’s always shining.’ And that’s a perspective that only comes from zooming out a little bit.”
The same month also saw Meghan make her debut as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia, stepping in for Andy Allen while he took paternity leave. Reflecting on returning to Australia, Meghan described the trip as a “full circle” moment for the couple.
“Oh, we’re so excited. We love Australia,” she said.
“We had the most sentimental, amazing time. We were here almost eight years ago. We announced we were pregnant with Archie at the time. So, it’s full circle; here we are, but thrilled to be here with all of you and taste some really good food. I’ve heard you’ve been cooking up a storm this season.”
