The Duchess of Sussex marked Valentine’s weekend in the best way, enjoying a sporting date with her adoring husband, Prince Harry. The couple sat courtside at the 75th NBA All-Star Game on 15 February and rocked coordinated navy blue outfits as they sat next to Hollywood actress Queen Latifah.
Keeping it simple, Meghan chose to rock an all-navy ensemble, consisting of a simple cashmere sweater by Brochu Walker, a selection of Cartier jewellery, and a pair of high heels. As a fashion editor who has been writing about royal style for over eight years, I was excited to see the 44-year-old don a pair of skinny jeans.
Meghan chose to sport a pair of dark denim jeans by Veronica Beard. Known as the ‘Beverly Skinny-Flare Jean’, they are cut close to the body and feature a subtle flare at the hem, nodding to the bohemian, 70s style that is making a comeback in 2026.
Meghan’s skinny jeans fashion statement
Meghan has worn these jeans many times, even though many fashion critics state that skinny jeans are not “cool” anymore. Many style heavyweights feel that wider styles, such as the barrel or balloon shape, are more modern. However, I think it’s great she is shunning this ideology.
After all, fashion is about individual expression, and the royal expertly styles her denims with smart separates.
A flared pair of jeans is one of the most body-flattering you can invest in, as they are an easy way to elongate your legs. Skinny jeans that feature a flare from the knee, like Meghan’s pair, create a vertical line that gives the illusion of natural height, especially when teamed with heels.
This is the second time this year that Meghan has chosen to wear these particular jeans. In January, Meghan made an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival wearing the same pair, but in black. The former actress teamed the jeans with a black high-neck jumper with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow for a more relaxed finish.
Rounding off the look, the former star of Suits added a pair of black heeled boots with a pointed toe and her go-to Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet. Upon arrival, she wore a chocolate brown coat, which she soon removed to reveal her monochrome ensemble.
