Michael B. Jordan had one of the biggest nights of his career at the 2026 Academy Awards. After winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his dual performance as twin brothers Smoke and Stack in “Sinners,” the 39-year-old actor celebrated in a refreshingly relatable way. Instead of heading straight to Hollywood’s most exclusive parties, Jordan made a quick stop at an In-N-Out Burger.

The moment quickly caught attention online. Social media clips showed the actor smiling widely while holding his Oscar at the restaurant counter. Fans and staff cheered as trays of food were brought out, creating a spontaneous celebration that felt far removed from the formality of the Oscars stage.

Jordan happily posed for photos with the golden statue in hand as the crowd shouted his name. The casual burger run instantly became one of the most talked-about celebrity moments of the night.

The celebratory stop happened shortly after the ceremony ended on Sunday, March 15. With his Oscar in hand, Jordan appeared relaxed and thrilled as he soaked in the excitement of the night.

The images of a newly crowned Oscar winner grabbing fries and burgers struck a chord with fans online. The scene captured a rare blend of Hollywood glamour and everyday joy.

It also highlighted Jordan’s grounded personality. Even after delivering a career-defining performance and securing the industry’s most prestigious acting award, he chose a simple late-night food run before continuing the festivities.

After the quick stop, Jordan headed to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. While walking the red carpet there, he showed off his trophy again, even kissing the statue while posing for photographers. Dressed in a sharp brown suit, he looked every bit the newly minted Oscar winner as he celebrated with Hollywood’s biggest names.

Michael B. Jordan’s Emotional Best Actor Acceptance Speech

Earlier in the evening, Jordan delivered a heartfelt acceptance speech that reflected both gratitude and history. He began by thanking his family and “Sinners” director Ryan Coogler, a longtime collaborator who has worked with Jordan on several major projects throughout his career.

“Thank you to my family and to Ryan Coogler for believing in this story and trusting me with these characters,” Jordan said as he accepted the award. Coogler had already been honored earlier in the night, winning Best Original Screenplay for Sinners. He was also nominated for Best Director, though that award ultimately went to Paul Thomas Anderson for “One Battle After Another.”

Jordan also took a moment to recognize his co-stars, including Wunmi Mosaku and Hailee Steinfeld, who both starred alongside him in the film. “Wunmi, thank you so much for allowing Smoke to be him,” Jordan said. He then added a message to Steinfeld, who is currently expecting a baby. “Hailee at home, you know she’s getting ready to have a baby right now. Thank you so much for being the other half of Stack.”

Honoring the Legacy of Black Oscar Winners

One of the most powerful moments of Jordan’s speech came when he acknowledged the Black actors who paved the way for his historic win. Standing onstage with the Oscar in hand, Jordan reflected on the trailblazers who came before him.

“I stand here because of the people that came before me: Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith,” he said.

Jordan emphasized how meaningful it was to join that list of legendary performers. “And to be amongst those giants, amongst those great greats, amongst my ancestors, amongst my guys,” he continued.

The actor closed his speech by thanking fans who have supported him throughout his career, from his early television roles to blockbuster films. “Thank you, everybody in this room and everybody at home, for supporting me over my career,” Jordan said. “I feel it. I know you guys want me to do well, and I want to do that because you guys bet on me.”

A Competitive Best Actor Race at the 2026 Oscars

Jordan’s win came in one of the most competitive Best Actor races in recent years.

He was nominated alongside Leonardo DiCaprio for “One Battle After Another,” Wagner Moura for “The Secret Agent,” Ethan Hawke for “Blue Moon,” and Timothée Chalamet for “Marty Supreme.”

Each contender delivered widely praised performances, making the category one of the most closely watched of the night.

Jordan ultimately stood out for his complex dual role in “Sinners,” portraying two dramatically different characters within the same story. Critics praised the performance for its emotional depth, technical precision, and commanding screen presence.

By the end of the evening, Jordan had not only secured the biggest acting prize in Hollywood. He also delivered one of the most memorable Oscar night celebrations, complete with fries, burgers, and a golden statue sitting proudly beside him.
