Millie Bobby Brown is embracing the ’90s in more ways than one! The “Stranger Things” star recently revealed that she has been wearing vintage pieces straight from Pamela Anderson’s wardrobe during the press tour for her upcoming film, “The Electric State.”
Appearing on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on Wednesday, March 12, the 21-year-old actress shared with host Alex Cooper that the embellished jeans she wore during the interview once belonged to Anderson, 57. “I’m not lying,” Brown said. “She gave me these pants for the press tour and they fit.”
According to Brown, Anderson sent her “a whole rack of clothes” to help her achieve the perfect ’90s aesthetic for her promotional appearances.
“‘The Electric State’ is based in the nineties. So I was like, ‘I want everything I wear on this press tour to be nineties archive,'” she explained. “So I was like, ‘Who are the major blondes in the nineties?’ And I was like, ‘Okay, Pammy.'”
Thanks to a mutual connection, Brown was able to reach out to Anderson, who was more than happy to help. “She was like, ‘Oh, let me just look in my closet and I’ll pull some stuff for you,'” Brown recalled. “And she pulled me a whole rack of clothes that were just unbelievable. These dresses are timeless and ridiculous, and these pants were a part of it.”
Brown has already been spotted sporting Anderson’s iconic pieces. In an Instagram post on February 27, she wore a gold button-down dress originally seen on the “Baywatch” star in 2005. The “Florence By Mills” founder even tagged Anderson in the post, adding a graphic reading “Pam” over one of the photos.
Shutting Down Appearance Criticism
While Brown has been making waves for her nostalgic style, she has also been in the spotlight for speaking out against relentless media scrutiny about her looks. On Monday, March 3, she posted a makeup-free video on Instagram addressing the criticism head-on.
“I started in this industry when I was 10 years old,” she said. “I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow up with me.”
She went on to express frustration over expectations that she should remain unchanged, referencing a Daily Mail article that accused comedian Matt Lucas of taking a “savage swipe” at her appearance. Lucas later apologized via Instagram.
Brown further discussed her decision to speak out during an interview on the Today show on Tuesday, March 11. “I kind of shut my phone off after because I was a little overwhelmed,” she admitted. “But again, I’m so happy people were able to feel like they connected with the video.”
A Surprising Name Revelation
Amid the buzz surrounding her style and self-empowerment, Brown also dropped a fun fact about her real name. In a recent BuzzFeed UK interview with Chris Pratt, she revealed that her full name is Millie Bonnie Brown—not Millie Bobby Brown.
She confessed to changing “Bonnie” to “Bobby” “for s—s and giggles,” leaving Pratt visibly surprised. While she insisted it was just a playful swap, some fans speculate that “Bobby” may be a tribute to her father, Robert Brown.
And the name changes don’t stop there. After tying the knot with Jake Bongiovi in May 2024, Brown hinted at adopting her husband’s surname. A behind-the-scenes photo from the “Stranger Things” Season 5 set featured a blackboard labeled “Millie Bobby Brown Bongiovi.”
