Millie Bobby Brown shared the first-ever picture of her newest family member on September 17, after several outlets reported that she had adopted a second child with her husband, Jake Bongiovi.
The 22-year-old took to Instagram to confirm the incredible news with a photo of her and Jake’s hands holding onto their son’s tiny fingers. Millie’s hand sported a ring that simply read: “Mom”.
“Hi little guy!” she wrote in the caption.
Their growing family
The news comes more than a year after Millie and Jake adopted their baby girl in 2025, in a move that shocked their many fans.
“This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” they wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “And then there were three.”
Fans began to speculate that the married couple had welcomed another child after Millie shared insight into their family getaway to the Dolomites in Italy in September.
In one social media clip, Millie can be seen walking with their daughter on her hip, while Jake has a baby carrier strapped to his chest.
Millie’s adoption journey
The Stranger Things actress has been open about her adoption journey with Jake, and shared insight into the emotional call they received confirming that their baby girl would be going home with them.
“Getting the call, I mean, I will never forget it,” she reflected on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty show. “It was the most surreal feeling, and yet we both knew in that moment that we had found each other. Like, oh my goodness, this is our girl, 100 percent, no doubt.”
Millie added that she was glad the pair chose not to record the heartwarming moment. “I think there’s something so special about it because my whole life’s recorded,” she explained.
“My husband and I will never forget those words, where we were, what we were doing, the feeling. And I think in so many ways, that shouldn’t be recorded. It’s almost like you had to be there.”
Becoming a mother
The British star also shared why she and Jake chose the adoption path in an interview on the Not Gonna Lie podcast. “Hopefully one day [pregnancy is] in my future,” she said. “But for me, adoption was always a part of my future. Adoption is love. Adoption is forever.”
“The aspect of adoption in my social work courses was everything and so, so meaningful and important. Then I also learned speaking to and reading a lot about being a birth mother and what that journey is.”
“So for me, my husband and I took a lot of time to focus on what that story and what that journey looks like and then we embarked [on] it.”
As for being a young mom, Millie shared that she had no regrets about expanding her family in her early 20s. “Everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, a 21-year-old mother’ and ‘Gosh, how could she?’ but I’m having the most amazing time. My husband and I say it all the time, but it’s like going from seeing in black and white to color.”
