Angélique Francois, who represented Haiti’s Northwest region, was initially crowned during the ceremony. But after the results were reviewed, organizers confirmed that Tatenda Josephina Rameau, representing Les Cayes, was actually the winner of Miss Universe Haiti 2026. Francois was officially named first runner-up.
The correction means Rameau will represent Haiti at the 75th Miss Universe competition, scheduled for November 24, 2026, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

She graduated from Wellesley College and is pursuing a master’s degree in journalism at Georgetown University.
She also has previous pageant experience. Rameau competed in Miss District of Columbia 2026, where she reached the Top 5.
