On the night of August 1, a new chapter was written in Uganda. For the first time, the nation crowned its first representative on the road to Miss Universe.

Mitchelle Daka, originally from the Budaka district, won the title during an emotional evening at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

Under the slogan “Beyond the Crown” and organized by Joram Model Management, the pageant officially opened the country’s doors to the world’s most prestigious international beauty platform.

On the road to the Miss Universe final

Mitchelle Daka, 25, has brought more than her beauty and charisma to the table. She is shining a light on a subject rarely explored in pageants: mental health and emotional awareness.

With this focus, Uganda is not only entering the competition, but also contributing a fresh and committed voice to the global conversation about the role of women in society.

This coming November, Uganda will make its debut at the Miss Universe 2026 events in Puerto Rico, where the grand final will be held on the 24th, coinciding with the pageant’s diamond anniversary.
