It’s Friday, which means we have our weekly roundup of new music from award-winning artists and rising stars. As summer nears its end, now is the perfect time to refresh your playlist, so let’s get the weekend started with fresh tunes from a variety of genres and sounds.

Lasso – Tu lunar

Lasso is back with “Tu Lunar,” a nostalgic new single inspired by a girl he met once but never saw again. The Venezuelan singer-songwriter turns her beauty mark into a song about looking for traces of someone, while the music video brings that idea to life through a puzzle he can’t finish. The Latin GRAMMY winner is also gearing up for his next studio album, with “Tu Lunar” following “p0rn0grafía” and “¡¡¡FELIZ ANIVERSARIO!!!” as the third single from the project.

Niko Rubio – kitty

Mexican and Salvadoran-American Niko Rubio has one of the most unique voices in music. The singer-songwriter songstress has had a big year for new releases, and she keeps the momentum going with “Kitty.” The song has a catchy melody with fun instrumentals and is all about staying with someone you know isn’t good for you and has other girls on the side.

Myke Towers – CARITA FELIZ

Puerto Rican star Myke Towers drops “Carita Feliz.” The melodic reggaeton track touches on the idea of smiling and hiding the way you really feel when things aren’t going great. “There are good days and days that aren’t so good,” Towers said about the song. “And being unwell is also okay. When you need someone, come find me.” The track comes with a short film starring Spanish actress Clara Galle.

Myrandas – DALE OTRA VUELTA

MYRANDAS are back with “Dale Otra Vuelta,” a fun, dance-floor-ready track that blends Afrobeats, Afro-Kuduro, Caribbean percussion, and merengue. Produced and co-written by Turra Medina, the track is about resilience, optimism, and finding the strength to start again, with the pop duo explaining in a press release, “The message at the heart of the song is simple: ‘Que todo pasará.’ It’s a song people could dance to while reminding themselves that life’s challenges are temporary and that every difficult moment can lead to a brighter tomorrow.”

Mac Miller – Butterflies

The one and only Mac Miller may have passed away in 2018, but he left behind a collection of unreleased music. This week, his estate released “Butterflies,” a romantic, soulful, and beautiful track about a woman who left a permanent mark on his heart. They also announced that a 10th anniversary edition of his album The Divine Feminine will be released on October 10th with 10 original tracks from his 2016 album and three new songs, including “Butterflies.” After doubling down on his rap prowess on 2015’s GO:OD AM, Mac Miller stunned fans with an audacious pivot to create a concept album that explored his views on the power of love and the sacred energy of women,” the estate said in a press release.

Michelle Maciel, Jasiel Nuñez – con ella si

Michelle Maciel teams up with Jasiel Nuñez on “con ella sí,” a romantic corrido about realizing the heartbreak was worth it. The GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter opens up about leaving a painful past behind and finding someone who brings a sense of peace and hope for the future. Blending romantic corrido sounds with the nostalgia of ’90s piano ballads, the track offers another glimpse at Michelle’s upcoming album.

Dana Salah دانا صلاح – Majnooneh مجنونه (

Palestinian/Jordanian pop artist Dana Salah is stepping into a new era with “Majnooneh,” the focus track from her debut album Bent Bladna. The bilingual song is about owning who you are and not letting other people’s expectations decide who you should be, with Dana reclaiming the Arabic word for “crazy” as a symbol of confidence and freedom. “‘Bent Bladna,’ or ‘daughter of the homeland,’ is about connection—to self, to lineage, to land, to memory, and to the many versions of who we are allowed to be,” says Dana. “Growing up between worlds, I often felt like I had to choose between identities: Arab or Western, traditional or modern, strong or soft, Dana or King Deco. This album is my way of rejecting that idea. ‘Bent Bladna’ can be layered, contradictory, tender, resilient, and entirely whole.”

YOVNGCHIMI x DJ Khaled x Dei V – “HVRACAN”

Puerto Rican trap singer YOVNGCHIMI teams up with DJ Khaled and Dei V on “HVRACAN,” a high-energy track that will have you moving from the start. It’s another major collaboration for YOVNGCHIMI, following work with artists including Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Eladio Carrión, French Montana and G Herbo.

Remi Wolf – Bottle

Ethereal songstress, Remi Wolf, releases “Bottle,” another preview of her third album Mud, due on October 9. The track touches on trying to be a better version of yourself, but hitting speed bumps along the way and doing things you know you shouldn’t. Fans are raving about the release, declaring on social media they already know the album is going to be on repeat.

Yuridia – Que Se Vaya

Yuridia is back with “Que Se Vaya,” the latest preview of her upcoming studio album as she slays her regional Mexican era. The song is all about female support during a time of heartbreak, when a woman asks her friend to help after finding out she was betrayed by a partner. It comes ahead of her shows at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP on Sept. 3 and 4 as part of her “Las Cartas Sobre La Mesa” tour.

Joss Favela – Tengo Tanto Que Contarte

Mexican singer-songwriter Joss Favela continues teasing his new album Confesiones with “Tengo tanto que contarte,” a vulnerable norteño and banda track about losing someone because you failed to give them the attention they deserved. The third single closes with the painful realization, “No estuve listo para ti, cuando fui muy correspondido,” capturing the regret of recognizing what you had only after it was too late.
