As investigations into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance enter their seventh week, the last-known footage of the 84-year-old has reportedly been scrutinized by law enforcement.
While the clip has not been released to the public, Crime Stories with Nancy Grace reported that police received footage of Nancy in an Uber on the night of her disappearance and questioned the driver at length, yet found no leads in the case.
Nancy was headed to her daughter Annie’s home for a family dinner and game night in the Uber on January 31 and was dropped off at her $1 million Tucson home by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, around 9:45 p.m.
She was reported missing the next day, and investigators found drops of blood on her doorstep, indicating that suspicious activity had occurred. “The Uber driver turned over all the video from inside the vehicle,” explained Crime Stories reporter David Mack.
“This was looked at by the investigation. They found nothing of substance of anything of Nancy Guthrie in the vehicle, anything she said, her demeanor, nothing was mentioned.”
“They interviewed the Uber driver at length. And again, there was nothing to report,” he continued. “It was just a regular pick up and drop off. Remember, Guthrie only took the Uber, leaving her house and going to Annie and Tommaso. But again, the Uber driver video has been given to law enforcement. They haven’t released it to the public.”
While law enforcement is reportedly investigating more than 40,000 tips from the public, the only footage released so far regarding the case has been of a masked individual who appeared outside her home less than 45 minutes before her pacemaker disconnected from her phone at around 2:28 a.m.

The footage shows the individual approaching her front door and attempting to dismantle her surveillance camera. He wore a ski mask, black gloves, a backpack and a gun in a holster around his waist.
Despite this breakthrough, other photos taken from the cameras on Nancy’s property did not show any suspicious activity. Amid the ongoing investigation, calls have been made by Tucson Republican candidate Daniel Butierez to oust the current Sheriff, Chris Nanos, via a recall petition due to the perceived lack of progress in the case.
“It’s a shame that crime has risen to this point in our community, and I can’t blame just Nanos. We have failed leadership in Pima County,” he said on Katie Pavlich Tonight. The sheriff responded to the recall petition, sharing with 13 News: “We’re aware of the recall, and it’s the right of the people. We’ll always honor the will of the people, and that’s what makes Democracy.”
Meanwhile, the sheriff called for people in the Arizona area to stay alert for further kidnappings following Nancy’s disappearance. “Don’t think for a minute that because it happened to the Guthrie family, you’re safe. No, keep your wits about you,” he told NBC News. “From day one, we had some strong beliefs about what happened, and those beliefs haven’t diminished.”
Nancy is the mother of Today show star Savannah Guthrie, who recently returned to her home in New York City after assisting investigators in Tucson alongside her siblings.
