Naomi Watts understands the power of a fashion moment – especially when it comes with a little historical gravitas. The 57-year-old actress steps into the role of Jackie Kennedy Onassis in Ryan Murphy’s Love Story, and she appeared to lean fully into character at the New York premiere on February 3.
Arriving in a dramatic one-shoulder Balenciaga gown styled by Jeanann Williams, Naomi delivered a modern interpretation of first lady elegance. The design featured a crystal-embellished bodice with sculptural, off-the-shoulder detailing that flowed into a sweeping, billowing skirt. Over-the-elbow opera gloves completed the look – a clear nod to Jackie’s polished White House-era wardrobe.
Naomi elevated the ensemble with striking Cartier diamond earrings reportedly valued at $133,000. Each piece was set with 30 baguette, princess and trilliant-cut stones, adding a flash of old-world sparkle worthy of Camelot.
The gown bore a particular resemblance to one of Jackie’s most memorable early-1960s evening looks, worn alongside President John F. Kennedy during the height of their Washington years – refined, regal and impeccably tailored.
