Natasha Richardson was an English actress born on May 11, 1963, in London. As the daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and director/producer Tony Richardson, she was born into entertainment royalty. Over the course of her career, she delivered memorable performances in films like Gothic (1986), Patty Hearst (1988), The Handmaid’s Tale (1990), Nell (1994), The Parent Trap (1998), Maid in Manhattan (2002), and The White Countess (2005). She was also a celebrated stage performer, earning a Tony Award for her acclaimed role in the 1998 Broadway revival of Cabaret.
Richardson was married twice—first to producer Robert Fox from 1990 to 1992, and later to actor Liam Neeson, whom she wed in 1994. The couple remained together until her tragic death in 2009. Natasha passed away at age 45 from an epidural hematoma following a skiing accident in Quebec, Canada.
