Spice Girls fans are definitely not getting a 30-year “Wannabe” reunion tour, and it turns out they might not get a documentary either.
The Mel’s of the group have been sharing the inside scoop with the former girl group. After Melanie Chisholm confirmed there’s no reunion happening in March, Mel B is echoing that same energy. “I can tell you it’s not happening,” she told HELLO! Magazine. “If it does, it’ll be a shock to me.”
Decades later, and with everyone living their own lives, it seems like some members of the group just flat out don’t want to go on tour. “You can’t be nagging everyone to go on tour if they don’t want to. I laid that to rest when I turned 50,” she told the outlet.
Even when asked if she’d return if everyone else was in, she kept it just as real, saying, “I honestly don’t know.” Still, the love is there. “I’ve got a lot of respect and love for those girls… I wouldn’t be sitting here if it wasn’t for me being part of the Spice Girls,” she said. “I can’t even begin to tell you what our bond is… we’re like family; our umbilical cords are all tied together.”
Where things get interesting is the idea of a Netflix-style documentary. It’s been floated around, and they’ve talked about it. “I think we’ve all been asked and were all thinking about it at some point,” Mel said. But there’s one thing she said that has raised some eyebrows, “It has to be done in the right way, and it has to be honest – and not everybody wants to be honest.”
Behind the scenes, getting all five, Mel B, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton, Chisholm, and Victoria Beckham, on the same page has never been simple. The 2019 tour (without Victoria) still sold out, proving demand isn’t the issue – alignment is.
So while the 30th anniversary moment feels big, the reality is a lot quieter and mysterious. It’s unclear which members are flat out against it – but there are clues.
Beckham has always been honest about her new life. In a Radio Andy Sirius XM interview in October 2025, when they talked about a reunion, she said, “I don’t know if I could.” “I mean, I was never that great,” she added.
And while she said a show at the Sphere in Las Vegas “would be tempting,” she made it clear she would never tour again, saying, “Could I take on a world tour? I can’t. I have a job.”
So, Spice Girls fans are going to have to manifest harder or give up their dreams of seeing them reunite
