IT was a night of shears and queers, bears, otters and Eagles on Thursday as a collection made from the wool of gay sheep made its way down the runway for the first time.

Designer Michael Schmidt discovered that farms slaughter rams that won’t mate with female sheep (in other words, those who say eww to ewes). Or, as Schmidt put it to the Times, “The sheep are killed for being gay.”

Schmidt and Grindr put together “I Wool Survive,” a collection made from their coats. He showed it off at the Altman Building, charming the crowd with archetypal gay fantasy looks, including workmen, athletes, UPS guys, and so on — all knitted (even the workmen’s tools and athletes’ sneakers).

The sheep are being rescued and farmed by the Rainbow Wool farm in Germany, and ovine enthuasists are flocking to its website to adopt a glam lamb.

Desi Santiago did the set design, Johnny Dynell did the music, Charlie Le Mindu did hair and the show was styled by Alec Malin.

The after-party, where Grindr showed off its ED pill Woodwork, was hosted by Susanne Bartsch at famed gay bar the Eagle and featured burly fellas in harnesses tending the open baaah.

Those on the scene included musician Madison Rose, journalism legends George Wayne and Vanessa Friedman, sex writer Camille Sojit Pejcha, the show’s producers Kelly and Ava Cutrone of People’s Revolution, photographers Oliver Halfin and Cobrasnake, “Drag Race’s” Aquaria, political operator Lis Smith, Anna Delvey, designers Chris Habana, Janis Savitt, Zaldy and Mimi Prober, Grindr CEO George Arison, its SVP of marketing Tristan Pineiro, its head of brand initiatives SJ Jenkins, and writer Carson Griffith.
