Paris Hilton still follows the advice her mom gave her 20 years ago. The 44-year-old reality TV star revealed that just before her show ‘The Simple Life’ aired in 2003, her mother, Kathy Hilton, advised her to keep her feet on the ground and always do her best to help others.
During her speech at the Los Angeles magazine’s LA Woman Luncheon, where she was presented with the Woman of The Year prize, Paris said, “I’ve been in this town a long time. I’ve seen a lot, and I’ve seen a lot of fame and things get to people’s heads, and that’s something I never want to be like.

“I’m really grateful that I have these amazing parents that raised me to be the woman I am today. My mom always taught me the importance of giving back.
I will never forget the night before ‘The Simple Life’ aired, my mom told me: ‘Paris, when the show airs on Fox tomorrow, your life is going to change forever, and I always want you to remain the same sweet and down-to-earth girl you are and never forget that’…
“[I keep those words] close to [my] heart …”
Paris also shared that her grandmother has been a big influence on her life, along with her mother, saying: “[They] both just have the biggest hearts and always make me laugh and have the best time. They are both incredible mothers and my role models.”
Meanwhile, Kathy has previously admitted she feared for Paris when her daughter started partying as a teenager.
Speaking on the SiriusXM podcast Lunch with Bruce, she said: “I was actually worried about Paris for a good while. She was sneaking out and she’d go missing and I wouldn’t be able to find her. Let’s put it this way, it got very out of control, and I was scared for her. And my husband was very scared for her. And, you know, those nightclubs go on all night.”

How about for two days not knowing where your daughter is, and once hearing blood-curdling screaming, and then the phone hangs up. I mean, there’s a lot of stuff people don’t know.
