Pedro Pascal was one of the stars supporting Rachel Zegler‘s West End debut. The Chilean-American actor attended the show alongside his close friend Sarah Paulson, with the two stopping for photos on their way inside the show.
Pascal wore a cool and laidback outfit made up of a The Cure vintage t-shirt and black jeans, which he paired with thick-framed glasses and black shoes.
He smiled for photos alone and alongside Paulson, with his arm wrapped around her. For the occasion, Paulson wore an off-white dress that she matched with a black purse.
The pair represented some of the celebrities in attendance at the show, which was met with rave reviews for Zegler, who’s taking on the role of Evita and following in the footsteps of iconic stars like Madonna and Patti LuPone.
Pascal shared videos of Zegler taking a bow following the show’s conclusion and a clip of himself on his feet, cheering her on.
More details about Zegler’s West End debut
Rachel Zegler has been making headlines over the past couple of weeks, with Londoners treated to her rendition of “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” performed from the theater’s balcony during the show’s previews.
Still, it was last night that “Evita” had its official opening night, with actors like Ben Wishaw, Dame Elaine Paige, Keanu Reeves, and more in attendance. While Pascal’s visit was a surprise for her, Zegler was grateful for the support.
“Sarah texted me last week asking for the link to get tickets. I had no idea she meant last night,” said Zegler in an interview with Elle. “Then, our ensemble member Harrison Wilde asked me backstage, ‘Rachel, is Pedro here?’ and I said he probably would have told me. Then, during “Rainbow High,” I saw Pedro stand up. I was like, ‘Dad, you’re embarrassing me!'” she said. “No, he was so sweet.”
