Perez Hilton‘s family has shared a statement. Yesterday, news broke of Hilton’s hospitalization after he shared some troubling TikTok videos where he appeared to be harming himself. The videos prompted a response from the authorities in Florida.
Hilton is a single father to three kids and lives in Florida with them and his mother. The family has shared their first statement since he was hospitalized.
“Many of you have reached out with concern for Perez, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers,” reads the statement, published on his website.
© Getty Images for Buddy ValastroThe family made a request since Hilton has the attention of the media. “Our family’s focus right now is on his well-being. We kindly ask that you respect Perez’s privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time,” continues the statement.
“If and when we are able to share any updates, we will do so with everyone as soon as we can. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support.”
“Our highest priority right now is helping the children begin to heal from what they experienced. An important part of that process is allowing them to safely return home and begin rebuilding a sense of security and normalcy,” concludes the post.

The family also revealed that Hilton was recovering and “able to communicate, which has given our family hope.”
“This has been incredibly difficult and emotional for us, made even harder because very little information has been made available to our family. While we continue to wait for further updates, we remain hopeful,” continues the post.
Hilton’s kids reportedly fled the scene
In that same post shared on Hilton’s website, it was revealed that the kids were removed from the scene to protect them from witnessing their father struggling.
According to the statement, Hilton’s kids, his niece, and sister were home “minutes before” he harmed himself on a TikTok livestream. They reportedly fled the scene immediately “to protect the children from witnessing any further trauma” once it became clear Hilton was “experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself.”
Hilton is the father of three kids: Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8.
