Pete Davidson can’t wait to be a dad. The comedian recently shared the news that he’s expecting his first child with his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, and has addressed the comments for the first time.
Davidson was featured on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where he joked: “I did it!”
He then shared that being a dad has long been something that he wanted to do. “Anybody who knows me, it’s my dream to be a dad, so I’m so excited,” he said. Of his girlfriend, he said she was also thrilled. “I’m excited to see her be a mom, so we’re stoked.”
Davidson said that learning of the pregnancy helped put some things into perspective for him. “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.”
Hewitt shared the news of the pregnancy on Instagram, sharing various photos of herself and Davidson over the past weeks, including the photo of the baby’s first sonogram. “Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” she captioned the post, which also featured a couple of memes.
More details about Davidson and Hewitt’s relationship
Davidson and Hewitt confirmed their relationship earlier this year, after the two were photographed kissing on the beach. While they’re both in the entertainment industry, Davidson has opted to lead a more private life.
In the past, Davidson has made headlines due to his dating life and has discussed how upsetting it all was. “It was pretty humiliating and upsetting, honestly,” he said to Page Six.
“Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood. Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keoughan. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”
He added that while he wanted people to focus on his work, all they could do was focus on his love life. “I was one of the youngest ever cast members on ‘SNL’ and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating,” he said.
