The Kelly Clarkson Show has a new face for the next few days.
On Monday, March 2, Pink kicked off her stint as Kelly Clarkson’s substitute on her talk show, which will go through this week.
And while her new gig as a talk show host is, at least for now, only temporary, she did confirm that her move to New York City is not.
Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, kicked off the show with a familiar tradition for viewers, her own “Kellyoke,” taking to the stage and performing alongside her 14-year-old daughter Willow.
The two sang “This Hopeless War” from the 2024 Broadway production of The Outsiders, the first of the several nods to musical theater the rest of the episode had.
Pink went on to confirm that she and her family — which also includes husband Carey Hart, who she married in 2006, and their son Jameson, nine — have in fact moved to New York City, because she is “an amazing mom,” and wanted Willow to pursue her Broadway dreams.
“So Willow could study theater and experience more Broadway,” the doting mom added of their cross-country move.
The episode went on to feature Tony winner Darren Criss, who is currently starring on the Broadway musical Maybe Happy Ending, for which he won his first Tony Award, as well as fellow Broadway star Shoshana Bean, who has starred in Broadway hits like Wicked and Waitress.
Pink’s The Kelly Clarkson Show takeover, albeit for now set for just a week, comes one month after Kelly, who premiered her show in September 2019, confirmed that this season would be her last. It also comes amid unconfirmed rumors that Pink is being eyed as a possible permanent replacement for the “Since U Been Gone” singer.
“There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons. I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner,” Kelly first shared in her February 2 statement on Instagram.
“Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision — but this season will be my last hosting TKCS. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she added. Kelly’s kids, daughter River, 11, and son Remy, nine, lost their father, Kelly’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, to a battle with melanoma in August 2025.
“This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time… you never know where I might show up next. But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years,” Kelly concluded.
