Benson Boone, self-proclaimed “stunt king,” recently made New York City fans go crazy with an unforgettable moment, a backflip off the hood of a vintage firetruck-red sports car.
The surprise stunt happened on Canal Street, where a large number of fans gathered to see the musician’s signature backflip ahead of his Governor’s Ball headline performance and Lollapalooza show this summer.
The talented performer, who was recently announced as an ambassador for JBL, and has partnered with the brand for their summer campaign, revealed that despite the incredible stunts he displays in every show, his workout and diet are less impressive.
“I haven’t worked out in a couple months,” he revealed to Interview magazine ahead of his surprise appearance in NYC. “This is all natural,” he said of his toned physique. “I eat absolutely whatever I want,” he told the publication, admitting that his breakfast is “three bowls of Fruity Pebbles” and his favorite candy is “Blue Raspberry Sour Patch Kids.”
When it comes to his beauty regimen, he keeps it pretty simple. “I just wash my face with a wet towel and I do my hair with Cantu curling cream. Those are the only two things I do.”
The meaning behind his latest album:
The singer recently opened up about the pivotal moment that inspired his latest album, explaining to Jimmy Fallon that when he has younger he “got in a car accident” with his best friend. “We were driving in his backyard, and we flipped the car.”
“In that moment, I was maybe like 15 or 16,” he said, adding that at the moment he thought, “I don’t wanna die right now, a young American.” The singer said, explaining that his album is not meant to be “patriotic.” “It’s me as Benson Boone, the little kid that grew up with a dream to continue to do things with the people that I love, and that kind of sets the tone for the album.”
