This reunion was no accident!
Over the weekend at the Lexington Comic & Toy Convention, the original voice actors behind the three Powerpuff Girls and their accidental creator Professor Utonium reunited for a rare appearance.
The “emotional” outing marks the first time they are all seen together since Tom Kane’s stroke in 2020.
E.G. Daily, whose real name is Elizabeth Ann Guttman and who played the voice of Buttercup later took to Instagram to share videos from the reunion, featuring Tom as well as Tara Strong (who played Bubbles), and Cathy Cavadini (who played Blossom). “An amazing reunion with the OG #powerpuffgirls and the professor!” she wrote.
In another post, she added: “In December 2020, our Powerpuff Girls father, Professor Utonium — Tom Kane — suffered a stroke that left him unable to speak. We’re so grateful to see him again and to witness his recovery. We love you, Tom.”
Tom also shared a photo with E.G., Tara and Cathy, captioned: “Reunited with my girls!!” and Tara, commenting back, shared: “We were SO happy… so emotional to be back with our professor. It’s been way too long, beautiful friend. Our hearts are filled with joy to be back together with you & to hear your beautiful voice slowly coming back brought tears to our eyes. @tkanevo you are an angel on earth, always have been.”
