Princess Beatrice is said to be navigating a period of “distance” from her husband of six years, property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, according to a new report in the Mail on Sunday. The newspaper noted that the husband of the youngest daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson has recently spent time abroad, including travelling to Florida earlier this month to work on a new project for his company, Banda Property.
According to the report, sources have claimed that Edoardo is keen to keep his business separate from the scandal surrounding the former prince, which is supposedly at odds with Beatrice’s reluctance to cut her parents off. Meanwhile, Beatrice allegedly wants to maintain a strong family unit with her husband, and the Mail on Sunday reported that the couple put up a united front at a birthday party at Eel Sushi restaurant in Notting Hill on Friday.
As for Edoardo’s overseas work, the founder of the property and interior design business recently shared a clip from a building site in West Palm Beach where a luxury hotel is reportedly being built. He also shared a photo featuring ocean views.
Soon after, Edoardo, who descends from Italian nobility, travelled to Fisher Island, an exclusive island with roughly 800 residents.
Edoardo jets off to Florida
Edoardo’s sojourn to the Sunshine State came after he also spent time here at the end of January/early February, and shared photos and videos on Instagram. At the time, he penned: “Recap of our time in Miami and Palm Beach. Meeting inspiring people, visiting remarkable places, and discovering exceptional art and craftsmanship.
“A real pleasure to exchange ideas with peers across the industry at @palmbeachdesigndays. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us, and to all of you who followed the journey along the way.”
Navigating a family crisis
Edoardo’s time in the United States falls amid the ongoing crisis surrounding his wife’s father. The former Duke of York was arrested at his home on the Sandringham estate on suspicion of misconduct in public office on 19 February.
It came after he was stripped of his royal titles and honours by King Charles in November due to his appearance in the so-called Epstein files that continue to be released by the US Department of Justice. Sarah Ferguson, Andrew’s ex-wife and Princess Beatrice’s mother, was also stripped of her royal titles.
