Sweden’s Princess Estelle is taking on a special role. The 13-year-old daughter of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel has been picked by her maternal uncle Prince Carl Philip and aunt Princess Sofia to be a godmother to their four-month-old daughter, Princess Ines. Estelle is one of five godparents who have been chosen by the Prince Couple. The others include Fredrik von der Esch, Claes Kockum, Sandrine Kockum and Tiara Larsson.
Estelle’s baby cousin Ines will be baptized on Friday, June 13, at Drottningholm Palace Chapel. The baptism will be followed by a reception for invited guests and a private lunch. The date of Ines’ baptism coincides with her parents’ tenth wedding anniversary. Sofia and Carl Philip got married on June 13, 2015 at the Royal Chapel.
Over the last decade, Sofia and Carl Philip have welcomed four children: Prince Alexander, 9, Prince Gabriel, 7, Prince Julian, 4, and Princess Ines. The royal couple’s fourth child, Ines, was born this past February. Following the birth of his first daughter, proud dad Carl Philip said (translated to English), “We are happy to welcome our newborn daughter into the world. The big brothers are now looking forward to getting to know their new little sister.”
Sofia admitted to Vogue Scandinavia last year that she “always, always, always dreamt of a family.” The Princess said, “It’s one of my biggest goals in life. Not everyone has that – I had that.”

We feel very humble and grateful. It was maybe not in the plan, but now we are very, very excited. Especially the kids.”
Days after Ines’ arrival, the Prince Couple shared photos of Ines with her big brothers. In the caption, they wrote (translated to English): “It was a perfect little quartet♥️.”
Ines is currently eighth in line to the Swedish throne. The little Princess celebrated her first National Day one week before her baptism. The royal baby joined her mom and dad on June 6 as they opened the Royal Palace’s southern gates and welcomed the public into the inner courtyard on Sweden’s National Day.
