A new photo of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa of Jordan was released to commemorate the royal couple’s second wedding anniversary. The pair celebrated two years of marriage on Sunday, June 1. In honor of their anniversary, the Royal Hashemite Court shared a romantic photo showing Rajwa resting her hand on her husband’s chest as they smiled for the camera.
The image appears to have been taken the day of Princess Aisha bint Feisal’s wedding. Hussein attended his cousin’s wedding at Zahran Palace on May 12. The palace is also where Rajwa and Hussein tied the knot in 2023. The Crown Prince and Princess were married in an Islamic marriage ceremony that was attended by various royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
In an interview ahead of his and Rajwa’s first wedding anniversary last year, Hussein, who is the eldest of Queen Rania and King Abdullah II‘s children, admitted to Al Arabiya that his life has “changed for the better” after marriage. “It’s a great blessing that I found my life partner,” the Crown Prince said. “Marriage has helped me become more relaxed. Rajwa is calm, easy-going and funny.”
“She has friends in Jordan from a long time ago, so she is accustomed to the country, which made things a lot easier for her. Usually, we spend a lot of time at home. We can’t go out much, as you know,” he continued, adding, “We are happy.”
This year marks Rajwa and Hussein’s first wedding anniversary since becoming parents. The Crown Prince and Princess welcomed their first child, daughter Princess Iman, on Aug. 3, 2024. The royal baby’s name is a “feminine Arabic name meaning ‘belief’ and ‘faith.'” In a statement announcing Iman’s birth, the Royal Hashemite Court said that Their Royal Highnesses were “immensely overjoyed and thankful on welcoming their firstborn.”
Following his daughter’s arrival, Crown Prince Hussein wrote on his Instagram: “Praise be to God for His abundant blessings. We are immensely grateful for the safe birth of our daughter and the health of my beloved wife, Rajwa.”
He added, “Our heartfelt thanks to our family and the Jordanian people for their kind wishes, which deeply touched us during these special moments.”
