Anticipation reached its peak when tickets for the LUX Tour went on sale last December. After months of waiting and uncertainty, fans finally had the opportunity to hear Rosalía’s voice live. The Spanish artist has become a global phenomenon, and over four nonconsecutive nights at Madrid’s Movistar Arena, coinciding with Holy Week, the Catalan singer delivered a stunning, almost otherworldly show, suspended somewhere between the divine and the ethereal. Some distinguished guests, including Queen Letizia and her daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, reportedly attended the performances.
According to an exclusive report by contributor and journalist Marta Riesco, Queen Letizia and her daughters attended Rosalía’s final concert in the capital this Saturday before she heads to Lisbon and then on to Barcelona, her hometown.
As Riesco shared on her TikTok account, “It wasn’t just me at this incredible, jaw-dropping concert tonight; the Queen and the princesses were there too.” According to her sources, which include several photos of them enjoying the show, “they had a wonderful time.”
Riesco explained that a source sent her the snapshots—now circulating widely online—in which Letizia, Leonor, and Sofía can be seen watching Rosalía’s performance in awe, mouths open at the spectacle unfolding before them.
Riesco adds that the three “arrived a few minutes after the concert had already started and left before the opening chords of Magnolias,” the song Rosalía uses to close out her grand show. “A shame, because for me it was one of the best songs of the night,” the contributor noted.
In addition to receiving the photos confirming that Spanish royalty has also been captivated by the magic of LUX, the source was even able to speak with Queen Letizia.
“She asked me, ‘Are you from here?’ and I said, ‘No—I’m here watching the concert with my boyfriend, but I saw you and wanted to tell you I really admire you and that you have such lovely daughters,’” reads the message Riesco shared from her social media exchange with the person who provided the information.
According to the source, Queen Letizia replied, “Well, they’re all grown up now,” after which he added that he didn’t want to “bother her” any further and chose not to ask more questions.
The roughly hour-and-forty-minute concert was divided into four acts and featured a 25-song setlist, with a meticulously crafted staging drawing on a wide range of artistic influences. The LUX Tour also includes an impressive troupe of dancers and 22 musicians from the Heritage Orchestra, creating a unique fusion of opera and pop.
Last Monday, rumors circulated that King Felipe VI had attended the Catalan artist’s opening concert in the capital alongside Princess Leonor, but there was no confirmation, nor any images to back it up. Now, thanks to the photos shared by the contributor, it appears it was this Saturday when the Royal Family, noticeably without the King, enjoyed one of the most in-demand and widely acclaimed concerts of recent years. Remember the challenges faced in securing tickets for this unique Rosalía experience.
The King, Queen, and their daughters love all forms of culture, from film and literature to dance and music. What’s more, according to journalist David Insua, the Royal Household and Rosalía have reportedly collaborated on a Prado Museum campaign that has yet to be unveiled. “The campaign aims to commemorate a significant event related to art and social media,” stated the director and host of the podcast ¡Menudo Cuadro!.
To coincide with the Spanish leg of her tour, ¡HOLA! has released a special issue dedicated to Rosalía. This 144-page collector’s edition features the most spectacular images of the globally renowned Spanish singer, along with more intimate, personal, and family moments.
