The Dutch royals are together again! Queen Maxima, King Willem-Alexander and their three daughters, Princess Catharina–Amalia, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane, posed for their annual winter photo session on Nov. 29. The royal family’s dog Mambo was also on hand for the shoot.
The images were taken in Amsterdam because “of the celebration of the 750th anniversary of the city,” according to the Dutch Royal House. Maxima looked elegant in a winter white coat teamed with matching pants and a beige turtleneck.
The Dutch Princesses also donned stylish outerwear. Princess Ariane opted for a fuchsia belted coat from Alicia Audrey, while Princess Catharina-Amalia wore an almond-colored coat over a chocolate sweater, which complemented her sister Alexia’s brown coat.
The photo session on Friday was a reunion for the royal family. The King and Queen’s youngest daughter Ariane studies at UWC Adriatic in Italy. The 17-year-old Princess began her studies at the school last year.
Her older sister Alexia is also studying outside of the Netherlands. The 19 year old is a student at the University College London. After taking a gap year, Alexia—who graduated from UWC Atlantic in 2023—returned to the UK in September to study at UCL. The Dutch Royal House revealed on Nov. 20 that Alexia had “switched” from pursuing a bachelor’s degree of “science & engineering for social change” to a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Meanwhile, Maxima and Willem-Alexander’s eldest child, Princess Catharina-Amalia, who turns 21 on Dec. 7, is studying politics, psychology, law and economics (PPLE) at the University of Amsterdam. It was revealed earlier this year that the Princess of Orange had secretly lived in Spain to escape threats made against her. Back in April, during King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain’s state visit to the Netherlands, King Willem-Alexander said, “Last year, circumstances required her to live in Madrid for a while. From there, she was able to continue her studies at the University of Amsterdam.” The heir to throne admitted (via AD) on King’s Day this year that her time in Spain made life in the Netherlands “somewhat possible again” and that she was “happy to be back.”
