This wasn’t the first time—and it certainly won’t be the last—that Queen Máxima of the Netherlands (54) has shown her full support for her country during top-level sports competitions, as she did this Saturday at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025. Smiling and full of energy throughout, the wife of King Willem-Alexander (58) was joined by their youngest daughter, Princess Ariane (18), who also had a wonderful time cheering on their national team in person.

The match between Wales and the Netherlands took place at the Allmend Stadion in Lucerne, Switzerland, with a dominant 3–0 victory for the Dutch side.

From their seats in the VIP box, Máxima and Ariane followed every moment on the pitch with great attention. They sang the Dutch national anthem as it played over the stadium speakers, applauded the standout plays, and even shared a few laughs together. Undoubtedly, their enjoyment was immense, serving as a fortunate omen for the Oranje’s victory.

They made a powerful debut with a 5–0 win over Portugal. It is worth remembering that Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, who loves football, traveled to London in the summer of 2022 to watch that year’s Women’s Euro. That trip was their first international outing on their own.
