Rain Man star, 60, looks so youthful as she goes braless on Venice red carpet

Valeria Golino looked incredible as she made another glamorous appearance at the 2026 Venice Film Festival.

The Italian actress, who famously played Tom Cruise’s girlfriend Susanna in the 1988 Oscar-winning movie Rain Man, looked remarkably youthful at 60 as she stepped onto the red carpet in an elegant all-white ensemble.

Valeria went braless beneath a silky cream blouse, leaving several buttons undone to create a plunging neckline, which she accessorized with layers of sparkling diamond necklaces.

She paired the blouse with a sweeping, floor-length pleated skirt and carried a silver shoulder bag, while her naturally curly blonde hair was worn in a voluminous bob around her face.

The actress kept her makeup understated, opting for softly defined eyes, glowing skin and a natural pink lip.

It marked yet another stylish moment during a busy Venice Film Festival for Valeria, who is attending this year’s event with several projects. Earlier in the festival, she walked the red carpet for Nessun Dolore alongside Alessandro Borghi in a plunging black velvet gown.

While Valeria looked completely at ease on the red carpet, she has been surprisingly candid about how she feels about getting older.

The actress celebrated her 60th birthday on October 22, 2025, but admitted earlier this year that she was still adjusting to the milestone.

“It feels strange to hear that I’m 60. I’m still not used to it,” she told Vanity Fair Italia, joking that she would like to claim she was completely at peace with her age, “but it’s not true.”

She has, however, found an unexpected way of feeling younger through her career.”I’m a middle-aged actress but a young director,” she said. “Being a director makes me feel younger.”

Valeria, who has increasingly moved behind the camera in recent years, appears busier than ever. Reflecting on reaching 60, she recently pointed out how dramatically opportunities for women have changed during her career. “I work more now than I ever worked before,” she told Flaunt, noting that 20 years ago it would have been unusual for a woman in her 60s to find herself more in demand than ever.

Her feelings about ageing have evolved over the years. When asked how she felt about passing 50, Valeria admitted there were days when she accepted the process more readily than others.

“On one hand I’m terrified, on the other I know I have to accept it,” she told Italian magazine Donna Moderna.

She explained that ageing had crept up on her almost imperceptibly: for years it can seem as though nothing has changed, she said, until one day you look in the mirror and realize that it has.

Her observation about finally knowing yourself as your appearance begins changing was particularly poignant.

“The drama is that just when you finally find yourself, your body starts going somewhere else,” she said.

Asked at the time whether she did anything to fight the ageing process, Valeria gave a wonderfully candid answer.

“I’d really like to, but then I don’t do anything,” she confessed, revealing that despite making plans to use the treadmill, swim and indulge in beauty treatments before a film and Venice appearance, life had got in the way.

Why ageing on screen frightened Valeria Golino

The subject became even more personal when Valeria dramatically altered her appearance for her 2026 movie La Gioia.

For the role, the actress was deliberately aged and transformed with thinning hair, glasses and prosthetic changes to her features, something she said she had never experienced to the same degree on screen before.

Asked how it felt to suddenly see herself looking significantly older, she admitted it was easier than she had imagined, but also emotionally confronting.

“As I’m ageing too, all it takes is a light to highlight the asymmetries that age begins to give you,” she told Corriere della Sera, before admitting that seeing the transformation “frightened and disturbed” her.

Yet her attitude to the passing years is far from entirely negative. On her 60th birthday, Valeria offered a thoughtful perspective on what time actually does to us: “Time doesn’t change anything, it just makes us more and more what we were meant to be, for better and for worse.”
