Reacher star Alan Ritchson has been the subject of online scrutiny after a video surfaced on TMZ that showed the action star allegedly hitting a neighbor in Nashville, Tennessee.
The footage shows the complainant, Ronnie Taylor, being assaulted by a man who had been riding motorbikes around the street with two children. TMZ has not confirmed if the man in the video is, in fact, the Hollywood star.
Alan shared a clip of himself singing from his bed on Sunday, with the 43-year-old joking about falling asleep after battling jet lag during his time filming in Australia.
“The curse of the Australian Jet Lag disease has been broken! Now we sing in Disney and joke about cocktails that will kill you!” he wrote in the caption.
“And for the love of god I did not take all that, I was joke-singing in [a] stream of consciousness because that’s what totally sane, well-rested people do. Don’t drink and do drugs, kids, and def never ever mix them. You won’t actually wake up a Disney princess like me. You won’t wake up at all.”
Fans and critics alike took to the comment section to address the video, with many berating him for his alleged actions. “We all here from that TMZ video?” said one, while another added: “[Shake my head] and in front of your kids? Do better. Disappointing,” and a third chimed in: “This video is probably not going to be helpful.”
“Whatever you do, you should think of your children and be a good role model for them. I’m disappointed in you,” wrote another, while a fifth questioned the reliability of the clip, saying: “Was that really him in that video? I never saw the face in the video. I wonder what the context is.”
TMZ claimed in the report that Alan did not attack Ronnie first, but rather the man ran out of his house to confront the actor on Sunday after complaining about the noise his green Kawasaki motorbike was making.
Ronnie alleged that Alan had disturbed the peace of the neighborhood on Saturday with his loud vehicle, and the pair had exchanged rude gestures with each other.
According to the outlet, Ronnie allegedly tried to stop Alan’s bike in an aggressive manner after he rode past the following day, leading Alan to crash, fall, and sustain minor cuts and bruises to his body.
The clip then showed the individual assaulting Ronnie in his front yard, as the two boys on motorbikes looked on from the street. Ronnie later told police that Alan had hit him “at least four times”.
The local police department shared that “no arrests have been made” as of yet, and that the investigation into the incident was still underway. Alan has not publicly addressed the alleged altercation, and HELLO! reached out to his representatives for a comment.
