Reba McEntire has revealed that her wedding to Rex Linn will be an “unusual” affair.
The 71-year-old country music star shared an update on the couple’s nuptials after revealing in February that plans for their big day have been “pushed back.”
In a new interview, Reba admitted that the couple’s wedding will have some unorthodox guests during the multi-day celebration.
“It’s not going to be a wedding day — it’s going to have to be three or four days,” she exclaimed to Entertainment Tonight.
Revealing that their menagerie of animals will be among the guest list, Reba continued: “Well, see, not only do we have granddogs, we have long-horned steers, we have donkeys, we have horses, and dogs.
“So it’s going to be a very unusual wedding on the farm.”
One “problem” Reba and Rex foresee for their big day is choosing the entertainment. “Rex has his list, and I have my list, and if we leave anybody out, we’re going to hurt somebody’s feelings,” she added. “So not sure how the music is going to roll.”
Admitting that their wedding date has been pushed back again, Reba explained: “Every time we plan on something, he [Rex] gets a job, or we get back into the third season [of Happy’s Place] and hoping for more. And you can’t plan something that we think is going to be a week or two.”
In February, Reba revealed that their work schedules took priority over their wedding planning.
“We’re still waiting on a third season pickup from Happy’s Place. And Rex got picked up on Stick with Owen Wilson, so that pushed the wedding back,” she explained to E! News. “[Rex] says, ‘Work comes first.'”
When they do finally make it down the aisle, Reba admitted in December that their wedding will be “very different.”
“A Reba/Rex wedding is going to be very different,” she said on . “It’s going to be low-key, lots of fun, lots of people, lots of food. Our big motto is just have fun.”
Reba and Rex’s relationship
The couple confirmed their engagement to the world in September 2025, nine months after Rex popped the question on Christmas Eve during a walk around their ranch.
Reba and Rex first met in 1991 on the set of Kenny Rogers’ film The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw, yet remained friends as she was married to Narvel Blackstock at the time.
Reba and Narvel split in 2015 after 26 years together, and she reconnected with Rex on the set of Young Sheldon in 2020, before they grew closer during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. They publicly revealed they were dating in October that year.
“It’s good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what’s going on,” she said on her podcast Living & Learning.
“Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress,” she continued. “And he’s very into my music. I’m very into his career.”
