The Beckham family are continuing to drop hints as to what they believe are the reasons behind their feud with estranged Brooklyn. In the latest subtle sign as to what they believe is the catalyst for the fallout, which went public in January with his explosive six-page Instagram statement, his younger brother Romeo has ‘liked’ an Instagram post that called out his wife Nicola Peltz.
In January, pop culture influencer Ash Cantley shared a video to Instagram in which she claimed that “Victoria and David are trying to rescue their son”. It seems that since the clip was shared on January 20, Romeo, 23, has ‘liked’ it in what appears to be the biggest sign yet of who the family think is to blame for Brooklyn cutting ties.
Ash said: “I take it all back. Nicola is the problem. Victoria and David are trying to rescue their son, I think Nicola forced him to make that statement. I saw an interview with Victoria, and she was like ‘I’m a girls’ girl, I love girls, that’s why I have the business I have, and you have to be a real a-hole for me not to like you’. And I was like ‘oh yeah Nicola’s an [expletive]’.”
She continued: “And then when you look at Nicola’s friends, the amount of people who have dropped her. Selena Gomez? Like your reputation matters, and her reputation is really bad. I saw an interview with David, this was like right after Brooklyn released his statement, and he’s like ‘you know, kids make mistakes, and you have to let them make mistakes’, and it was like a very grounded answer.”
Romeo’s cousin, 27-year-old Libby Adams, the daughter of his mum’s younger sister Louise, also ‘liked’ the post. She was seen celebrating with him and the rest of the Beckhams at Cruz’s 21st birthday party in London at the weekend.
It’s not the first time that Romeo has let slip his true feelings, after Brooklyn’s claims about not wanting to “reconcile” with his parents who he accused of trying to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola, 31, whom he married in 2022. He appeared in Cruz’s video with the caption “imagine hating and we’re just here like” when the brothers were in Paris for their mum’s honouring by the French government just days later.
It comes after the rather relatable reaction of Romeo to his brother Cruz’s racy poster to promote his band, Cruz Beckham and the Breakers, as they prepare for a string of shows next month. It showed what appears to be a close-up of Cruz’s crotch, while he was rocking a pair of blue budgie smugglers, with the caption: “Cruz Beckham is coming…”
The tongue-in-cheek update caused a stir on social media, with followers rushing to leave comments. Leading the pack was Romeo, who simply left a string of laughing emojis on the update.
