Rosie O’Donnell admits she still isn’t used to her ‘new smaller body’ after drastic weight loss

Rosie O’Donnell is still getting used to shopping for a smaller wardrobe with her “new smaller body.” The 63-year-old actress is one of many celebrities on weight loss drugs, but she’s one of the few who are being honest about it.

O’Donnell took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a candid dressing room photo while shopping for a comfortable lounge wear outfit for her upcoming 22-hour flight to Australia. She looked incredible in a black sweat suit, although she admitted she “was undecided.” “I can’t see myself in this new, smaller body,” she wrote.

She revealed that she is now a size 12, writing, Mounjaro is a “lifesaver.” The comedian has been using diabetes medication for the past few months.

The picture was snapped by Camryn Manheim and Robin Ruza, and she had a lot of love in the comments with people saying she looked “great” and “incredible.” Fans shared their own positive experiences too, “It is a life-changing med! The A League of Their Own star has been on a weight loss journey for over a decade. In January 2023, she had lost 10 pounds since the holidays. Her doctor prescribed Mounjaro and Repatha to help manage her Type 2 diabetes, which she was diagnosed with years ago. “One I do every other week and one I do once a week,” she explained in a TikTok update. “You have to have diabetes to get them.”

She was quick to clarify that it’s “not Ozempic,” the more widely publicized celebrity weight-loss drug.

Medication isn’t the only change Rosie’s made. She cut out all beverages except water. Which is a big change from when she used to drink “five or six Diet Cokes a day.” She also drastically reduced her sugar intake. “I’m not eating sugar as much as I can,” she said, adding that the combination of medication and lifestyle shifts has made a huge difference, decreasing her appetite and alerting her thought process.

The former talk show host has been candid about her health over the years, from surviving a heart attack in 2012 to openly discussing her struggles with weight. In 2013, she had a vertical sleeve gastric surgery, and she went from 240 to 176 pounds. She said the surgery changed her life.
