The final of the 74th annual Miss Universe competition is live from Thailand. People around the globe have gathered in anticipation of finding out which contestant will succeed Victoria Kjær Theilvig, the Danish queen who charmed the world in 2024.

The show began with 120 delegates (after withdrawals and disqualifications) introducing themselves during a triumphant entrance. In a historic moment, Miss Universe Latina, Mayotte, Niger, and Palestine will compete in the Miss Universe pageant for the first time. After several years away, Iraq, Slovenia, Sweden, Ghana, Haiti, Kosovo, and Panama are returning to the Miss Universe stage. Unfortunately, Iran has withdrawn from the competition.

Replacements and Surprises

Pageantry is known for its unexpected developments, and Miss Universe 2025 is no different. Déborah Djema from Congo was dethroned after refusing to sign a required contract, leading to Dorcas Dienda taking her place.

Sihlé Letren from Trinidad and Tobago stepped down for personal reasons and was replaced by Latifah Morris. Poland’s queen, Oliwia Mikulska, has also withdrawn. Additionally, China’s Xuhe Hou, the 2024 titleholder, has stepped down, with Zhao Na now representing the nation.

Find below which beauty pageant made it to the top and who became our new Miss Universe 2025.
