Russell Crowe’s latest hobby has delighted fans worldwide, with the 61-year-old revealing that he has a TikTok account of his own where he showcases his luxury watch collection. The unverified account now has tens of thousands of followers and is named “igp366” after his band, Indoor Garden Party.
“Hello, I use this TikTok to talk about Indoor Garden party & watches. Hope you are happy and busy,” his bio reads. In one video on the page, Russell shared insight into some of his favorite watches, including a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona.
“Now, I’m not going to show you my entire watch collection. That would take quite some time because I’m literally obsessed and have been for a long time. But this is my current rotation,” he shared in the clip.
“There’s just something about the Tiffany blue that really gets to me. And what I love is if you wear this with a suit, whenever it sort of sneaks out from under the suit sleeve, it always draws people’s eye,” Russell said of the Daytona.
The Oscar winner’s fans shared their surprise and delight over Russell’s hobby online, with one writing: “Love seeing a legend like Russell Crowe just being a genuine watch nerd on YouTube. No PR. Just passion,” while another added: “I like him even more now. It’s authentic. He really enjoys it. He is not showing off, but sharing with us. Very nice of him.”
Russell previously explained on the YouTube channel Time+Tide Watches that he was inspired to buy a Panerai watch after his time on the Gladiator set.
“I had no experience with Panerais whatsoever until the set of Gladiator,” he said. “Stan, who played the guy in the tiger fight, and also Ralf Moeller, they both had gigantic Panerais. I didn’t quite think they were for me, but I did start seeking them out when I was at the airport.”
“I’d have bought this watch just around the same time I was nominated [for an Oscar in 2001]. So therefore, it’d have followed up with a bunch of responsibilities through that period of time. So, I was probably wearing this watch to the Academy Awards, etc.,” Russell concluded.
The A-lister opened up about his penchant for collecting in a speech at his famous “Art of Divorce” auction in 2018 following his split from Danielle Spencer, whom he was married to from 2003 to 2018. “I am not sure when the collecting bug took hold. Maybe as a child with coins, or maybe with stamps, or maybe at around 11, with football cards,” he shared.
Russell shares his sons, Charles, 22, and Tennyson, 19, with his ex-wife, and the pair remained friends after their split for the sake of the boys. “The marriage ended, but that didn’t mean our friendship ended…We have a lot of respect for each other, and I consider him to be a member of my family,” Danielle told Stellar in 2020.
The father of two is currently dating real estate agent Britney Theriot, whom he met on the set of Broken City in 2013, with the couple first being linked in 2020.
