Ruth Langsford has a knack for serving up effortless, off-duty style and part of that is her coat collection. And Ruth’s done it again with her latest outfit by wearing a leather blazer in the most unexpected way.
Ruth wore her chic leather blazer from QVC with fitted joggers and sneakers; Ruth wore the ensemble as a cosy (yet effortlessly cool) outfit en route to This Morning, where she appeared as a guest to promote her book, Feeling Fabulous.
Ruth’s styling of a leather blazer is exactly spot on for the time of year. A leather blazer is a great transitional item, as we ease out of big, padded coats or more casual jackets and Ruth’s outfit is proof that a leather blazer can be work as casually as their quilted counterparts.
In fact, the 65-year-old has given me plenty of ideas on how to wear a leather blazer. It’s something I’d normally expect to team with denim, but I love how she’s styled up her casual look of jogging trousers and trainers with a smarter, edgier jacket.
Ruther’s luxe-looking blazer is in fact from her own clothing range with QVC. Made from faux leather, it has a tailored fit and long sleeves, plus pointed lapels for a more elevated version of a blazer.
It’s a contemporary piece to add to any wardrobe, whatever your age, and looks just as cool with jeans and a tee as it would layered over a black dress. I love the minimalist, 90s vibe of Ruth’s blazer, a welcome respite from the oversized, boyfriend-fit styles we’ve seen of late.
Ruth’s blazer is available in both black or chocolate brown, with both colourways selling fast in sizes ranging from 8 – 22.
Promoting the jacket on QVC herself, Ruth explained that it’s lined inside and is a soft, subtle faux leather made from a high grade faux leather. “It does mean soft, subtle, you don’t squeak or need to break it in. You won’t with this.
“It’s absolutely classic. It’s that lovely tailored shape, but because it’s so soft you can have it smart or casual. You can push the sleeve up, wear with a crop or a trainer, and it won’t ever date.
“You’ve got a notched collar, Some shoulder pads but it’s very minimal to give you some structure. And then you’ve got that little faux handkerchief pocket. There’s no buttons on the sleeves, so you can roll or push the sleeves up.”
She also pointed out that it’s machine washable, which is a rarity for faux leather items, and to opt for your usual size.
The coat has a number of reviews on QVC, with shoppers raving about the quality and fit of the blazer. “It is great, it has good stretch and is a quality faux leather, as you would expect from Ruth’s range.”
Others called the faux leather “buttery soft” and said it looked “smart yet comfortable.”
