Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s youngest son turns 14 on February, 27 2026, and although the famous parents have kept Samuel out of the spotlight for most of his life, the young man has appeared with his dad several times in the last few years at NBA games.
Ben and Jennifer were married from 2005 to 2018, and welcomed daughter Violet, 20, now studying at Yale University, middle child Fin, 17, and youngest Samuel.
Samuel is close to his siblings, but over the years, we’ve loved to see how he is also taking after his parents, especially dad Ben.
Oscar winner Ben has been a longtime Boston fan, but he lives in Los Angeles and often takes Samuel to the court, and it’s clear Ben has taught Samuel the love of the game, with pictures showing them often deep in conversation with Ben appearing to explain the flow of the game to his son.
In 2023 Ben directed the movie Air, based on true events about the origin of the Nike Air Jordans, a basketball shoeline with then-rookie player Michael Jordan.
That same year he took Samuel to the All-Star Games where Ben was spotted taking pictures of his son meeting NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Also in 2023 Samuel was seen animatedly taking to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver (C) proving his love of the game.
The pair were also seen at the Got Sole sneaker convention in Los Angeles on March 1, and video footage revealed Samuel’s interest in a $6,000 pair of shows.
“That’s a lot of lawns you’ve got to mow there,” Ben told Samuel, revealing rate insight into how he is raising his children.
In March 2024, Samuel and Ben were joined by Ben’s then-wife Jennifer Lopez ar a Lakers game, where they were seen revealing their matching level of enthusiasm, as they cheered on the team.
Ben is famous for his outgoing Bostonian personality, and at the 2023 NBA All Star game Samuel revealed he had inherited Ben’s personality when he confidently stood on the court and took the microphone.
In January 2026, Ben appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and revealed that despite only being 13, Samuel had asked his parents for betting money.
“My son asked me like a month ago, [he] was like, ‘Hey, um, can I get like 100 bucks to bet on sports?’ ” Ben recalled, sharing that Samuel told him: “My friends get $100, but if they lose it, then that’s it.””
“I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s a real standard, what discipline!'” he then mocked.
For Samuel’s 13th birthday in 2025, the pair attended a basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves, and it’s clear that regardless of the A-list friends, or courtside seats, this father-son duo simply enjoy spending time together.
