The former Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, has been lying low since her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February.
The 66-year-old mother of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie was stripped of her duchess title last October by King Charles, as was the former prince, Andrew, who was also evicted from his long-term home in Windsor, Royal Lodge.
Over the last few months, Sarah’s whereabouts have been vague and mostly unknown as she hides from public scrutiny amid her family’s scandal and Andrew’s relocation to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
The mother-of-two was also living at Royal Lodge, despite her divorce from Andrew in 1996, and it is unclear where her new permanent residence is now, following the pair’s eviction from the Grade II-listed Georgian mansion.
Sarah’s close-knit network of celebrity friends is reportedly lending a hand during her troublesome time, including the daughter of music legend Elvis, Priscilla Presley. It has been suggested that, after brief stints at luxury resorts in Switzerland and Ireland, the disgraced royal is staying with the A-lister in America.
When Fergie met Priscilla
Following reports from Page Six, Sarah has been spending time with the 80-year-old at her Century City penthouse in Los Angeles, while she navigates issues which arose during her planning for a New York City move.
The same report claimed that the former British royal was “effectively homeless”, and that her two daughters have refused respite in their own homes, which they share with their husbands and children.
The publication also suggested that while her reputation is too “radioactive”, former friends in high places have decided to distance themselves and pull away.
Sarah and Priscilla’s late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, had a strong friendship before her death in 2023. The pair even shared nicknames, with Sarah dubbing Lisa ‘Sissy’.
Sarah’s sister Jane
Jane Ferguson Luedecke, Sarah’s older sister, has remained a close confidant of the former royal and has been a support system to her during her years in the royal family.
The pair of siblings follow each other on social media, and last October, Sky News Australia reported that Jane flew to the UK from her home on the New South Wales coastline to support her.
In the past, Sarah has described her sister as a “phenomenal human” who always takes care of her, and she told The Times: “I respect, love and admire her. I’m her little naughty sister and she puts me first.
It is not known whether Sarah will live with Jane while she struggles to plant her feet in a new permanent home.
Instagram pals with Sabrina Elba
Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina, follows Sarah on social media and cosied up to the disgraced royal for a photo in May 2025.
The entrepreneur and former duchess wrapped their arms around each other and beamed as the camera captured the two friends spending time with one another.
Sarah posted the picture to her Instagram at the time with a caption that read: “Honoured to join dear friends @sabrinaelba and @micksheldrick at the @glblctzn partner event in London, focused on Scaling Up Renewables in Africa.
“As someone who cares deeply about job creation and opportunities for young people across the continent, I’m proud to support this journey to elevate what’s good for both the planet and the next generation.”
