Sarah Michelle Gellar shared an ultra-rare photo of her son, Rocky, with fans on social media, in an unexpected move for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star.
The mother of two celebrated Rocky’s birthday with a snap of putting an arm around her son, who almost reached her height despite being only 14.
A proud mom
Rocky looked sharp in a gray polo shirt, white shorts and white sneakers, while his mom wore a cream-colored flowy polka-dot dress and a broad smile. “And then, there were two. Three years and one day later, @rockyprinze came racing into our lives,” Sarah Michelle began in the caption, after posting about her daughter Charlotte’s birthday the day prior.
“I should have known from your speedy delivery the excitement you would bring. You have no idea how lucky I feel to watch you chase your dream. You inspire not just me, but everyone around you. Happy Birthday Rocky,” she concluded.
© InstagramThe actress added a photo of Rocky in a go-kart with the name “R. Prinze” stamped on the front. Fans couldn’t get enough of the adorable snap, and noticed just how similar Rocky looked to his famous dad, Freddie Prinze Jr.
“Literally a mini FPJ,” one fan wrote, while another added: “He looks just like his dad!” A third chimed in: “A mini Freddie!” while another said: “He’s so cute omg. Perfect combo of both of you.” Sarah Michelle and Freddie met on the set of the 1997 flick I Know What You Did Last Summer, and began dating in 2000 before tying the knot in 2002.
Sarah Michelle also shared a sweet photo with her 17-year-old daughter, Charlotte, to celebrate the teen’s special day on September 19.
“Yesterday was my best friend’s birthday @charlotteprinze. I’m not sure how you are 17 already,” she wrote. “You may have been the child that made me a mom, but now you are the person that brings out the best in me. (Not to mention my biggest champion) Thank you…for being you.”
Social media restrictions

“Our rules are probably stricter than most,” the blonde beauty told Yahoo Life. “Our kids don’t have social media. They’re allowed to look sometimes when it’s our phones. Sometimes, our kids will be like, ‘you guys are the strictest household!’ But I say, ‘Yes, but everyone still wants to come here!'”
© Instagram“I believe kids need to know what their limitations are, and they actually thrive in that environment,” she added.
“We’re not mean, we’re not unnecessarily strict, but we have rules. And the same way I abide by my code of rules, I expect the same from our children.”
© InstagramSarah Michelle explained to SheKnows that it was important to stay flexible when it comes to social media, to avoid making it a taboo topic in the household. “It’s the wild, wild west. You know, there’s no road map,” she said.
“It’s walking a fine line because you don’t want them to become completely reliant on it, but at the same time, you also want them to understand. And if you make something taboo, then all they’re gonna do is sneak it. So it’s really just about opening conversations. And it goes right back to ask to be sure.”
