Sasha Obama was recently spotted stepping out of a luxury gym in West Hollywood, drawing attention during a low-key fitness outing.
The 24-year-old, the youngest daughter of former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, was photographed leaving the facility shortly after finishing her workout. As she exited, she was seen briefly using a vape, a detail that quickly caught the attention of photographers.
Sasha kept things sporty and simple in a black crop top and matching three-quarter-length leggings. She completed the look with black thong sandals, carried her phone in hand, and slung her gym bag over one shoulder. Her hair was pulled back into a loose ponytail, adding to the relaxed, post-workout vibe.
This isn’t the first time Sasha’s smoking habits have made headlines. In September 2023, she was photographed leaving a Labor Day party in Los Angeles while holding a cigarette. At the time, she was wearing a colorful bikini-style top paired with a flowing blue maxi skirt, sparking widespread attention online.
Her latest gym appearance also follows a rare recent public outing with her parents. Just weeks earlier, Sasha joined Barack and Michelle at the NBA All-Star Game on February 15 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, according to E! News.
For the event, Michelle opted for a black jacket and dark navy trousers, while Barack wore a dark blue jacket layered over a black T-shirt with gray jeans. Sasha appeared to coordinate with her father, wearing a gray outfit as she sat just behind her parents courtside.
Michelle later shared a photo from the evening on social media, writing, “My favorite teammates on and off the court,” highlighting the family’s rare night out together.
Although Sasha and her older sister, Malia, largely stay out of the public spotlight, Michelle has spoken openly about the challenges of raising her daughters during Barack’s presidency. During an appearance on Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, she described the intense scrutiny they faced as “the Obama tax.”
“You’ll have it the rest of your life, but you also have a lot of benefits,” Michelle explained, noting that the experience was often demanding.
She added that despite their unique circumstances, she and Barack tried to give their daughters as normal a life as possible. “They had to drive, go to prom, play on teams, travel, do college searches, go to parties, and try things like other kids,” she said.
Michelle also emphasized the values she worked to instill as they grew older. “I’m trying to make this feel normal to them,” she explained, adding that she didn’t want them to believe the attention was about them personally. “This world is not about you. This is just your dad’s job.”
Now living largely outside the political spotlight, Sasha continues to navigate young adulthood on her own terms. Whether heading to the gym, attending major sporting events, or simply spending time with family, she remains a figure of public interest—balancing privacy with life in the public eye.
