Throughout the 2025 awards season, Oscar nominees have been putting on glamorous displays of fashion.
Demi Moore, star of The Substance and a first-time nominee, has emerged as an awards season darling, with her red carpet looks continuing to demonstrate sartorial range. From nodding to Old Hollywood glamour in a silk champagne Giorgio Armani Privé gown at the Golden Globes on Jan. 5, where she took home her first-ever acting award, to going bold in a custom Bottega Veneta dress with a black leather bodice and peplum-style drop waist at the SAG Awards on Feb. 21, where she picked up the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, Moore has effortlessly toggled between edgy and elegant all season long.
Ariana Grande, who is in the running for Best Supporting Actress, is another Oscars nominee who’s told a story through her awards season style. Just as she did during the Wicked press tour, Grande has nodded to The Wizard of Oz and her onscreen counterpart, Galinda the Good Witch, at nearly every awards show and event, whether it’s the light-pink Loewe gown with floral embellishments she opted for at the SAG Awards or the pink feather-trimmed Yves Saint Laurent frock she wore to the Academy Awards Nominees Dinner on Feb. 25.

The Oscars are the culmination of months of press, campaigning and standout red carpet style. When it comes to fashion, expect this year’s crop of nominees to go all out one final time.
Each year, celebrities work closely with their stylists to curate fashion looks worthy of the Oscars red carpet.
Who could forget Cher’s midriff-baring set and over-the-top feathered headpiece designed by Bob Mackie that she wore to the 1986 ceremony — or Zendaya’s Cher-inspired, fluorescent yellow Valentino gown that she paired with more than $6 million in Bulgari diamonds for the 2021 awards show? Before taking the Oscars stage in 2023 for a performance of “Lift Me Up,” Rihanna, who was pregnant with her second child at the time, wore a modern, semi-sheer Alaïa dress that featured a halter neckline, low-slung skirt and train.
From sophisticated gowns to sleek suits, here are some of the most memorable looks from the 97th Academy Awards.
