Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are celebrating their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple in a memorable way. In stories shared over Instagram, the couple shed a look into their romantic day, with Blanco organizing a surprise for Gomez.
In photos shared on his Instagram stories, Blanco revealed his surprise for Gomez, showing their home decorated with stunning bouquets of white flowers.
He surprised Gomez with one of her favorite things: delicious food, likely prepared by him, who has published a cookbook and is known for his culinary endeavors on social media. The photos showed the two on a picnic, as they enjoyed some hot dogs and French fries.
Photos showed that Blanco had a red hot dog cart parked in their backyard, accessorized with pink plates, string lights, candles, and more sweet details.
For the occasion, Gomez wore an elegant but laidback outfit made up of a cream colored cardigan she paired with small gold hoop earrings and her hair tied back in a bun. Blanco completed his day of gifts and sweet gestures with a large white bouquet of flowers, sharing a photo of it and of Gomez making a kissy face near it.
For her part, Gomez also shared a look at their Valentine’s Day celebration, sharing a black-and-white photo of their decorated backyard. She also shared a sweet throwback, showing the two on their wedding day, barefoot as they addressed their guests. Blanco is seen wearing his tux and holding on to a microphone while Gomez hugged him from behind.
Gomez and Blanco’s relationship with cooking
In previous occasions, Gomez has opened up about Blanco’s love of cooking and her own, more complex relationship with the act.
“He completely loses himself in cooking, and I love that. I just think it’s so endearing,” she said in an appearance on Amy Poehler’s podcast “Good Hang.“
Gomez shared that while she knows a little bit of cooking, Blanco tends to take centerstage. “I enjoy cooking, I really do. I just find it very intimidating to do with Benny because he’s just really good at it,” she explained. “It’s almost just too threatening.”
“So one time I made dinner with my friends and he got so offended — he was like, ‘Why haven’t you done that for me?’ I’m like, ‘Because mine was frozen and I just added a sauce!'” she shared.
While promoting his cookbook, Blanco was more generous with Gomez’s cooking skills. “We always cook together, she’s such a good cook,” he said on “Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware.”
“We have so much fun cooking together. All we do is eat.”
