Shakira finds herself at a unique moment in her life. Years after the release of her groundbreaking record “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” the Colombian artist continues to tour the world, taking her show to all possible locations. In a new interview, she’s discussing this special moment, how her relationships have evolved, and the blessings that have come out of one of the most challenging experiences of her life.
In an interview with Vanity Fair Spain, Shakira has discussed her relationship to her fans, her kids, and her music, including some of her most incendiary lyrics, those featured on her Bizarrap Music Sessions vol. 53.
The journalist asked her about the lyrics, ‘you changed the Ferrari for a Twingo,’ a direct jab at Gerard Piqué and his partner, Clara Chia Martí. “Do I regret it?” asked Shakira. “No, no, no, no. It’s one of the most accomplished lyrics of my life.”
When addressing her regrets, Shakira tends to focus on the positives and the teachings that she’s learned from facing adversity. “I’ve examined my existence, I know that there are things that I could have done better, people that I shouldn’t have trusted, but those mistakes have shaped me,” she said.

Following the public breakdown of Shakira’s relationship with Piqué, her heartbreak has been explored vulnerably and openly. Still, despite all the hurt that she’s discussed in her songs, she recently shared a compliment about Piqué and his parenting skills.
When discussing her kids’ musical talents in an interview with an Argentine program called “Por el mundo,” the host suggested that her kids had inherited those skills from their mother. “Yes, because not from their father,” she joked. “Both of them are very musical. Milan plays piano, drums, guitar, and now he’s learning bass. He picks it up so easily! Sasha has a beautiful voice. At school, he played the lead in ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ Imagine that, his first time on stage playing a character… and he did it with such dedication. They’re both very disciplined, and that’s something I’ve taught them since they were very little.”

There’s no way to succeed in any profession without discipline — it’s basic. They know there’s no other way.”
“If you need to show up for something, you rehearse. If you have an exam, you study. That’s it. That’s non-negotiable,” she said.
