Snoop Dogg is mourning the loss of Juelz, his cherished French Bulldog who had been by his side for nearly 11 years. The 53-year-old rapper, born Calvin Broadus, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, calling Juelz a true member of his family.

His emotional tribute quickly resonated with fans, many of whom have followed the pup’s presence in Snoop’s life over the years.

He said in an online tribute alongside a video montage of his time with the animal over the years: “Miss my dogg @juelzbroadus.”

The small dog, gifted to Snoop by fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa for his 43rd birthday in 2014, quickly became a cherished part of his household.

Juelz had become an inseparable part of Snoop’s family, often appearing alongside his other French Bulldog, Frank.

The two dogs were well known to the performer‘s fans, with Juelz even boasting his own Instagram account for a time. However, the last post to that account was made in June 2021.

“Rip @juelzbroadus,” Snoop wrote in another tribute post to his pet, adding: “Thank Wiz for giving him to me,” followed by a red rose and white dove emoji.

The rapper has long been known for his affection for animals. In addition to Juelz and Frank, Snoop has previously owned Pitbulls named Lil Snoop and Mamba, along with Siamese cats he called Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra. Juelz’s death comes just days after Snoop was honoured with the Ultimate Icon Award at the BET Awards.

His longtime friend and collaborator Dr. Dre, 59, presented the gong in a ceremony that also celebrated Mariah Carey, 55, and 56-year-old Jamie Foxx.

Snoop included photos of Wiz Khalifa, 36, in his memorial post for Juelz, highlighting the close friendship between the two artists. The slideshow featured affectionate moments of the two rappers with the Frenchie.

Snoop previously made headlines in January 2022 when Frank, his other French Bulldog, went missing in Los Angeles. The rapper alerted his fans with missing posters and a call for help online. Days later, Frank was returned safely by a couple in the area. Snoop thanked the “lovely couple” and promised gifts in gratitude.

The rapper has also co-hosted several editions of the Puppy Bowl with his friend Martha Stewart, 82, combining his love of dogs with his ongoing partnership with the lifestyle personality.
