Stacey Solomon was forced to address rumours surrounding her marriage to Joe Swash, whom she married in 2022, during Wednesday’s episode of This Morning.
Speaking about her new role as a guest judge on Britain’s Got Talent, the singer and Sort Your Life Out presenter was asked by hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about the sweet Mother’s Day post her husband had shared on Instagram.
“Joe posted a lovely Mother’s Day post for you,” Ben began, to which Stacey replied: “Did he? I didn’t see it. What did he say?”
Ben then followed up: “There’s all these crazy rumours going on about the two of you at the moment, Stace.”
“Oh, go on, what are they?” she asked. “There’s a new rumour each week.”
Ben explained that some people had noticed she hadn’t been wearing her wedding ring, sparking speculation that there might be some issues going on.
“Do you know what, I’m terrible. I don’t read any of that stuff,” said Stacey. “In fact, does any one any more? Read any of that rubbish. We’re just… have I not been wearing my ring? I probably took it off to go to the toilet or something.”
When the conversation turned to Joe’s plans for a new fishing lake at their family home, Pickle Cottage in Essex, Stacey joked: “Maybe I dropped my ring in the lake – with our marriage!”
Stacey and Joe’s family life
Stacey, 36, has been married to Joe, 44, since 2022. The couple share three children: Rex, six, Rose, four, and Belle, two. Stacey is also mum to Zachary, 17, and Leighton, 13, from previous relationships.
Reflecting on her son Zachary’s upcoming 18th birthday, Stacey said her eldest is “the sweetest boy”. “Every year he asks to go to the same Indian restaurant that he loves,” she said. “He just wants to go to the curry house, so that’s what we’re doing again this year. He’s such a lovely boy – I’m so proud.”
Stacey had Zachary when she was just 17 and revealed he was only one year old when she first appeared on The X Factor in 2009. “Every year that I see him get older and turn into an adult, I feel so proud of him – and so proud of myself for what we’ve achieved,” she said, becoming emotional.
“What we’ve seen in our lives together as we’ve grown up together is really special. Oh, my God, what am I doing? I’m going to start crying on This Morning!”
