Stella del Carmen Banderas belongs to one of the world’s most famous families. The daughter of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith got engaged last year to Alex Gruzynski, sharing the news in a happy post shared over social media. “I get to hang out with my favorite person on earth forever!!!!!!!!” she captioned the post, adding photos of her engagement ring, and herself and Gruzynski, who have known each other for most of their lives. It’s been 11 months later, and the wedding location has been confirmed: Stella is getting married in Spain, the country where she was born.
Where is the wedding taking place?
Our sister publication ¡HOLA! Spain learned that Stella and Alex are getting married in the Spanish country, even though a location has yet to be confirmed.
There are many possibilities for the couple, but there are two favorites: the Ribera de Duero area, known for its wineries and local customs, and the Andalusian region, a favorite of the Banderas family since Stella was born in that region, specifically in Marbella.
Stella lived most of her life in the US, specifically Los Angeles, but she still holds a lot of love for Spain thanks to her father’s influence and his commitment to his roots. Banderas’ dedication has paid off, making the entire Griffith-Banderas family, which includes Dakota Johnson and Alexander Bauer, to develop a special bond to the country.
The Gruzynski-Banderas wedding will likely feature a blend of American and Spanish cultures.
Banderas’ excitement over his daughter’s wedding
Over the past year, Banderas has shared his excitement over his daughter’s wedding, discussing it in various news outlets and sharing his joy at witnessing the marriage of his family’s youngest child.
“My daughter Stella is getting married,” said Banderas in the talk show “El Hormiguero.”
“I’m happy because I really like who she’s marrying. He used to come to my house to play when he was three or four years old, since the two went to the same preschool.”
He’s shared that Stella and Alex have known each other for most of their lives, first meeting at the Wagon Wheel School when they were children. Over the years, Alex has joined the Banderas-Griffith family on vacations in Spain, including last Spring Break, where he accompanied the family to Malaga.
