Sting and his wife Trudie Styler are celebrating the little moments of ‘true love’ in their 33-year marriage this Valentine’s Day. On Saturday, the British actress and producer took to social media to share a romantic video of her private life with her long-term husband.
The pair have spent many Valentine’s Days together over the years – but this year, they celebrated by giving a rare insight into their relationship and life behind closed doors. Set to Ellie Goulding’s dramatic ballad, ‘Love Me Like You Do’, Trudie’s video montage was made up of heartwarming footage of her and Sting’s tender moments at home, travelling the globe, and backstage at his gigs.
Romantic Valentine’s video
The couple are one of the most enduring celebrity love stories, spanning more than four decades together, including 33 years of marriage, and a family of four children. But while The Police frontman is no stranger to being in front of crowds, his long-term marriage is rarely in the spotlight.
The video, which the ‘Every Breath You Take’ singer reposted, showed the pair’s friendship at the heart of their relationship, and revealed they really love a laugh together – and are always up for a dance. They swayed on the dance floor, watched fireworks together, held hands, hugged backstage, and cuddled up on sunny boat days in the many home video clips edited together like a romantic film.
Trudie supported her husband at events and backstage at his performances, fixing his hair in a corridor in one behind-the-scenes clip, and embracing him in the middle of rehearsals in another. She looked on lovingly in one video as String strummed away on a guitar, seemingly serenading his wife.
The couple shared lots of hugs and PDA moments – including one intimate instance where Sting sweetly kissed his wife on the head. String also proved he’s ever the supportive husband as he played the part of photographer for his partner, getting down on the ground to snap a solo shot of Trudie from what appeared to be a museum outing. The video ended with Sting wrapping his arms around Trudie in a sweet embrace.
“Thank you so much Tharry @sartorialgirl for the lovely [Valentine’s Day] video,” Trudie captioned the video and thanked the editor on Instagram. She then wished a “Happy Valentine’s Day to all”, with three red heart emojis.
Fans gush about the pair’s ‘true love’
Fans flooded the comments section to gush about the pair’s heartwarming romance. “Something so beautiful about this video [red heart emoji] true love [red heart emoji]” one person wrote, while another said the couple’s relationship was the “love of [their] dreams”.
“To have this kind of friendship and love all [in] one package is the best,” someone else remarked. Another added: “So beautiful to see the real authentic love between you both”.
“You two….[heart emojis] Respect,” actress Melanie Griffiths even chimed in.
Love story spanning decades
Sting and Trudie have been married since August 1992 – but they were together for a decade before they tied the knot. They had already welcomed their daughter, Mickey, 42, and son, Jake, 40, by the time they tied the knot. They went on to have two more sons: Eliot, 35, and Giacomo, 30.
Trudie is also a stepmother to Sting’s two eldest children from his first marriage, and has eight grandchildren with the singer.
“They’re very hard working, all the kids, and are pursuing their own goals and dreams. And my grandkids,” Trudie told HELLO! exclusively about her family in January 2025.
“I’m happy to say they’re not allowed devices – their mums are very good about keeping them off the iPhones and internet. And I think as a result of that, they retain their childhoods a little longer, so I’m happy about that.”
