Jennifer Lopez shared insight on social media into her lavish Italian getaway with her twins, Max and Oskar, before they head off to college in the fall.
However, several of the entertainer’s photos drew criticism online, with many parents noting that Jennifer’s children appeared to be constantly on their phones despite their beautiful surroundings.
One such critic was Supernanny Jo Frost, who took to the comment section of Jennifer’s Instagram post to share her thoughts, particularly on a clip of Oskar riding on a gondola with earphones in and a phone in their hand.
Weighing in
“These kids today they just can’t get off their phones,” Jo wrote in the comments. “A beautiful gondola ride and no presence. Parents, you can request they look up. Italy full of such treasures.”
While many social media users agreed with her, others urged Jo not to criticize Jennifer’s parenting as she did not know the nuances of the situation.
“Ask me how many times I’ve ‘requested’,” one user quipped, while another added: “They are on a beautiful trip with their Mama – leave ’em alone.”

The TV personality shot to fame in the ’00s thanks to her hit show, Supernanny, which ran from 2004 to 2008 and saw her working with the families of misbehaving children to help them improve their parenting skills.
She also starred in shows like the US version of Supernanny, Family S.O.S. With Jo Frost, Family Matters, and Jo Frost: Nanny On Tour.
Social media ban
Jo has been open about her desire for a social media ban in the UK for children under 16, and shared an impassioned message for former Prime Minister Keir Starmer in April.
“You are a father, a father of two children, so you know what it is to protect them, to look at them and to understand what they are ready for and what they are not,” she said in an Instagram video.

I’m seeing children as young as seven and eight already being poured into a world of comparison and exposure and influence.”
“This is your moment, Sir, to stand up, to lead with empathy, to lead with courage, to protect not just your own children, but every child in Great Britain,” she concluded. “History will remember what you choose to do next, Sir. Act now. Raise the age, Prime Minister, raise the age to 16. Please.”
Jo’s strong stance

In 2025, Jo weighed in on George and Amal Clooney’s no phones policy with their guests, which was implemented to ensure privacy for their nine-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
“Amal Clooney, like so many parents, has had to ask guests to hand over their phones when visiting her home. Why? Because simply asking them to respect her privacy and family boundaries wasn’t enough, clearly, even her ‘famous friends’,” Jo shared in an Instagram post.
“If someone trusts you enough to invite you in, the least you can do is put your bloody phone away and not treat their life like a souvenir. Do it well enough, and you’ll raise your kids to be honorable too.”
