A woman was arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots at singer Rihanna’s Beverly Hills, California, mansion on Sunday afternoon, March 8. Authorities say at least one of the bullets struck the exterior wall of the home, raising serious safety concerns for the global superstar and her family.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a “shots fired” call at approximately 1:15 p.m. local time. According to police, a suspect was later located and taken into custody without incident. Officers also recovered a weapon believed to have been used in the incident.
No injuries were reported, but the case remains under active investigation by the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division.
Police Respond After Multiple Shots Fired Toward Beverly Hills Mansion
Police officials say the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds toward the residence from inside a vehicle parked across the street. Authorities later identified the vehicle as a white Tesla that fled southbound on Coldwater Canyon Drive following the shooting.
According to radio dispatch audio reviewed by the Los Angeles Times, first responders reported that roughly ten shots were fired toward the home. Law enforcement has not publicly released the suspect’s name. The Los Angeles Times reported that the individual taken into custody is a 30-year-old woman.
Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and determine a potential motive behind the shooting.
Rihanna Reportedly Home During Incident
A source familiar with the situation confirmed to People that Rihanna was inside the residence when the shots were fired. The singer shares the Beverly Hills home with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children: RZA, Riot, and Rocki.
While it remains unclear whether other family members were present at the time, the source confirmed that Rihanna is safe and unharmed and doing “okay.”
The unsettling incident quickly triggered a response from local authorities due to the high-profile nature of the residence and the potential threat posed by gunfire in a residential neighborhood.
Police have not indicated whether the suspect specifically targeted Rihanna or the home itself. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and forensic evidence in the ongoing case.
Active LAPD Investigation Underway
The LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division is now leading the investigation, which is standard procedure in cases involving weapons and potential threats to public safety. Officials have not disclosed whether the suspect had any prior connection to Rihanna or her household. They also have not confirmed if additional charges may be filed.
Authorities say the investigation remains active and additional details may emerge as detectives review evidence, interview witnesses, and analyze the recovered weapon.
