Sydney Sweeney is back in the role that launched her career as one of the most notorious young stars in Hollywood. HBO has released the new trailer for the third season of “Euphoria,” teasing some of the incoming storylines come out on April 12th.
Sweeney sparked much conversation for her appearances in the clip, which shows her as her character Cassie, with her modeling a red bikini as she works to launch her OnlyFans business with the help of her best friend turned enemy, Maddy, played by Alexa Demie.
Cassie is seen turning to her old friend for advice in order to launch her OnlyFans page, with Maddy taking photos of her in a red bikini, as she suggests some positions for her to adopt. The two are joined by another actress, who blows a fan towards Cassie’s direction, with the three posing in front of a pool in what appears to be a motel.
Another shot of the trailer shows Cassie smiling for the camera while wearing an American flag.
The trailer teases out some of the major storylines, showing a look at its returning cast of characters, including the late Eric Dane, who died earlier this year.
Rosalia is also seen wearing a bedazzled orthopedic neck brace. She’s playing an exotic dancer named Magick, marking her Hollywood acting debut.
Earlier this year, “Euphoria” released the first teaser for its new season, which comes four years after season 2 aired. Within two days, the trailer had racked up 100 million views, breaking a record for the company.
Sweeney lines up a major project
Last year, it was confirmed that Sweeney would play the actress Kim Novak in the film “Scandalous!,” exploring the actress’s real-life interracial romance with the musician and singer Sammy Davis Jr. This week, Novak shared her feelings regarding Sweeney playing her role, revealing that she believes Sweeney is “totally wrong” for the part, and that she “would have never approved” of the casting decision.
“There’s no way it wouldn’t be a sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney looks sexy all the time. She was totally wrong to play me,” she said.
The film will be directed by Colman Domingo, marking his directorial debut.
