Sydney Sweeney says she is ‘loving’ her single life and talks about her friendship with Glen Powell

Sydney Sweeney is embracing her single status and cherishing the time she has with her family and friends. The 27-year-old actress, who has risen rapidly to Hollywood stardom with roles in ‘The White Lotus,’ ‘Euphoria,’ and the blockbuster ‘Anyone But You,’ is opening up about her career and personal life, including the close friendship she shares with Glen Powell, her co-star and producing partner on the hit romantic comedy.

After ending her engagement with longtime boyfriend Jonathan Davino earlier this year, Sweeney confirmed to The Times that she is currently single and enjoying the journey of self-discovery.

“Yes,” she said to the publication when asked if she is single. “I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it,” she added. Sydney is known for keeping a relatively low profile in Hollywood.

The actress prefers hiking with her dogs and living a grounded, healthy lifestyle over parties. “I pretty much only drink water,” she explained, “and eat like a toddler — cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries… It all goes to my boobs,” she laughed.

The chemistry between Sweeney and Glen Powell in ‘Anyone But You’ was unmistakable, and fans quickly speculated about their relationship off-screen. The actress has since clarified that their connection is rooted in a deep friendship.

“Glenn and I adore each other,” she admitted. “We were so happy for the reception of the film. When you spend so much time with someone, you become close and you talk to each other about anything. So work, life, family, friends — he’s just there for me. I’m there for him.”

Powell echoed the sentiment, describing their dynamic as having “a ton of effortless chemistry” that they “lean[t] into” during filming.

Despite her growing fame, Sweeney remains focused on proving herself, not only as an actress but as a businesswoman. “I have to prove myself as a young woman, as an actor, as a businessperson — all of it,” she said.

She also talked about the loss of privacy amid her fame. “A lot is gone, like privacy,” she reflected. “You don’t realize how much that means until you lose it.” She continued, “I think that one day I will be able to have control of the narrative of my body. I’ll take the power.”
