Taylor Swift doesn’t have many positive things to say about Justin Baldoni. Some of the superstar’s text exchanges were unveiled on Tuesday of this week, showing conversations between her and her longtime friend, Blake Lively, as a part of the ongoing case involving a smear campaign and sexual assault allegations between Lively and her one-time director and collaborator, Baldoni.
Lively’s lawyers filed the court documents. “I think this b**ch knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin,” reads Swift’s text.
According to the court motion, Lively’s lawyers confirmed that the language was used but argued against Baldoni’s lawyers, who claimed that the exchange between Swift and Lively was referring to the New York Times article that came out in early December of 2024, which alleged that Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer had launched a smear campaign against Lively.
© GC ImagesAccording to Lively’s defense team, the court documents show the reaction that many people, specifically women, had to Baldoni. “The newly unsealed, damning documents show the consistent reaction numerous women, cast, crew, executives, partners, co-hosts, and even his own PR team had working with Justin Baldoni,” said Sigrid McCawley, a member of Lively’s team, per NBC News.
More texts showed that Lively and Swift discussed Baldoni on different occasions, with Lively describing Baldoni as the “doofus director of my movie,” and “a clown.”

© GC ImagesSwift’s reps have yet to address the new texts that have reached the public. Last year, Swift’s team received a subpoena from Baldoni’s team, issuing a statement that accused Baldoni’s team of using her name as a distraction.
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,” reads the statement.
Her team claimed Baldoni was using Swift’s name “to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”
Although Swift’s name has been mentioned repeatedly in the lawsuit, she’s not a party to it. She is listed as a potential witness on a list submitted by Lively’s legal team.
